Lucknow | The Indian Society of Dental Traumatology successfully organized its national conference, ISDT 2026, at King George’s Medical University, bringing together leading experts, academicians, and students from across India and abroad to deliberate on advancements in dental trauma care.
Held from April 9 to 11 under the aegis of the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at KGMU, the three-day conference served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and professional collaboration in the field of dental traumatology.
Workshops and Academic Sessions
The conference commenced on April 9 with pre-conference workshops covering a wide range of topics, including sports dentistry, replantation of avulsed teeth, 3D imaging, implant rehabilitation, and patient behaviour management. Student and faculty paper presentations, along with the ISDT fellowship examination, were also conducted.
On April 10, the main scientific sessions were held at Clarks Avadh, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation of dental injuries, psychological impacts of trauma, and pulp therapy.
Inaugural Ceremony and Key Speakers
The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Organizing Chairman Dr Rajeev Kumar Singh delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks from ISDT President Dr Vijay Prakash Mathur and General Secretary Dr Nitesh Tiwari.
The chief guest, Dr G K Singh, addressed the gathering, while Scientific Chairman Dr Neerja Singh, Co-organising Secretary and Treasurer Dr Afroz Alam Ansari, and Joint Organising Secretary Dr Garima Jindal were also present.

The event also featured ISDT awards and fellowship induction, recognizing contributions to the field.
Expert Interaction and Valedictory Session
On April 11, an interactive “Ask the Experts” session allowed participants to engage directly with specialists on topics such as luxation injuries, complications, preventive measures, avulsion, and auto-transplantation. A special oration by Dr Anil Chandra was among the highlights of the day.
The conference concluded with a valedictory ceremony, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Richa Khanna and the national anthem.
A Step Forward in Dental Care
The presence of ISDT Founder President Dr Ajay Logani added significance to the event. The event concluded with the society’s annual meeting and a presidential dinner.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all speakers, participants, sponsors, and volunteers, noting that the conference marked an important step toward enhancing knowledge and improving treatment outcomes in dental trauma care.
